Innisfail Pasta and Sugo Competition Nomination Form

Nominations are now open!

If you think you have what it takes to make the perfect Pasta or Sugo, and you wish to enter in the Inaugural Innisfail Pasta and Sugo Competition Festa please follow these simple steps. Please note anyone in Australia can enter the competition and you don’t have to be of Italian origin. In saying that the judging of the competition will be based on Italian categories and styles.

The Best Homemade Pasta and Sugo competition is held at the Johnstone Shire Hall, Innisfail, on the 23rd of July starting at 11.00am to 6pm.

Selection Criteria and Elegibility
The judges are a group of 5 passionate Italian Foodies who pride themselves in the food industry. Surprise special Judge will be one of the highlights of the festival. There will be three awards with our expert judging panel rating each entry out of 30 in the areas of Flavour, Texture, Presentation, Creativity Authenticity and Overall Impression.

Entering the name you have entered in the form as a reference. The nominations will not be consired completed until payment is received.

If you are nominating more than one pasta and/or sugo, submit one form for each entry. Payment can be made for the total cost ($20 per entry), as long as you submit all the forms with the same Name, and you use the name in the entry form as payment reference.

You can enter more than once in any of the categories.

Deliver your sample of Pasta and/or Sugo to the Innisfail Shire Hall on the day of the event the 23rd of July 2023 between 10am and 11am. Your product must have an ID tag this will contain your name; contact number and the category number you are entering. We will have tags onsite for you. We will commence with all contestants at 11am to start cooking. Please note this will take some time to get through all entries and it will be one category at a time.
Please note you don’t have to be present on the day to enter the competition, anyone in Australia can enter the competition and don’t have to be of Italian origin. You can have a friend enter your produce on your behalf.

Winners do not need to be present and will be announced on the day of the event at 3pm on the 23rd of July 2023. Categories 1 and 2 will each all have one winner, with each winner receiving a $500 cash prize. There will also be an overall Pasta and Sugo Champion winner receiving a cash prize of $1000.

So let the games and bantering begin between all master chefs in the region.
